South Lake Simcoe Area Scouts (SLS) is one of seven areas that comprise Ontario's Shining Waters Council within the Scouts Canada family. On this website you will find information of interest to SLS Scouters, youth and parents alike in Aurora, Newmarket, East Gwillimbury, Georgina, Bradford and Ballantrae.

Scouter Lloyd Greenwood
A Chapel Service will be held at the Taylor Funeral Home, 524 Davis Dr., Newmarket on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior.
Scouters, wear your uniforms, there will be a Guard of Honour.
Reception at Taylor Funeral Home, 12:00pm to 1:30pm.

2017 Shining Waters Council ScoutCon
2017-09-16 (10:00am – 6:00pm), Leatham Centre, Woodland TrailsThe Shining Waters Council Key 3 and Council Service Team would like to invite you to our first-ever Scouter's Conference, also known as ScoutCon
A more detailed schedule of the conference will be shared closer to ScoutCon, with specifics as to which workshop will be running at which time
The main purpose of ScoutCon is to help onboard new volunteers with everything that they need in order to be part of our big Scouting family. For experienced volunteers, they can catch up on all the hot topics and news that's going on. It's a great place for everyone to mix and mingle, meet new friends that may share the same challenges as you, and catch up with old friends! Presented in a workshop format, let us help you connect with the right resources and the right people to answer all those burning questions that you might have.

RESPECT - Group Youth Safety Training
Respect is in replacement for the CYS training and has been declared as mandatory for all Scouters and Rovers. The training must be completed by the 31st of August 2017 and will cost $30. The training can be accessed trough David Huestis Learning Centre online
and will automatically update your record once it is completed.
