SLS Algonquin Wilderness Camps

Cubs and Scouts that go to these camps consider them to be a highlight of their Scouting experience. Most campers can't wait to return the next year! We are all about having fun while learning in a wilderness setting - youth will make friends, learn new skills, and see more wilderness in one week than most people see in a lifetime.
Registration for 2020 is on hold until further notice.

Depending on the length of the trip, Friday may be spent touring attractions of Algonquin Park (for example, Logging Museum, Visitor's Centre, day-hiking trail).
  • Intermediate - for Scouts who are returning to this camp or who have previous multi-night wilderness canoeing experience. Refresher training at base camp before paddling in the interior for 5 or 6 days (4 or 5 nights). Length of the trip is determined beforehand by the capability of the participants. Depending on the length of the trip, Friday may be spent touring attractions of Algonquin Park (for example, Logging Museum, Visitor's Centre, day-hiking trail).
  • Senior - for Scouts who are returning to this camp in their senior year for 6 or 7 days (5 or 6 nights) of interior paddling. As with Intermediate trips, the Senior trip is determined beforehand by the capability of the participants.
All Scout camps reunite for the group banquet and campfire at base camp on Friday evening.
