A Canadian Tradition

Scouts Canada is the country’s leading coed, multi-faith youth organization. For more than 100 years, we have brought a world of adventure, outdoor experience and friendship to 17 million Canadian youth.

Scouts have a lot of fun discovering new things and experiences they wouldn’t have elsewhere. Along the way they develop into capable, confident and well-rounded individuals, better prepared for success in the world.

Scouting offers a world where you can discover the best in yourself and the best in others. Dollar for dollar, our programs provide significant value. They run all year round and offer adventures that youth will remember for a lifetime!

Volunteer and make a difference!

Shaping tomorrow’s leaders

Mothers, fathers, and young adults — people just like you — have been providing generations of Canada’s youth with their first opportunity to sleep in a tent; to experience a taste of leadership; and to build self-confidence and self-reliance. In a world that’s ever-changing and always busy, Scouting offers a chance for families to bond together and share unforgettable experiences.

By volunteering with Scouts Canada will be:

✓making a difference in the lives of children in your community
✓helping to shape tomorrow’s leaders
✓developing your own planning and leadership skills
✓acquiring new skills and knowledge to assist in fully enjoying the outdoors
✓feeling connected to the community
✓working as part of a team and building camaraderie with other like-minded

Becoming a volunteer with Scouts Canada is a multi-step process and we are here to help you every step of the way. The process includes a personal interview, the provision of three personal references, and a Police Record Check. With one-on-one help from an experienced coach, you’ll participate in a three-month orientation and probation period where you’ll learn all the basics to help you provide great programs for youth.

Once you become a leader, you’re provided with further training and tools and support to help you on your way. You’ll attend courses and workshops, receive Scouting Life magazine and can access helpful online support resources.

If you can commit 12 – 14 hours per month, you can make a difference in the lives of many kids, and help shape a better world for tomorrow.
