The Scout Brigade of Fort George is an annual International Scout jamboree held the third full weekend of September. Located on the grounds of historic Fort George, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario Canada. This is a living history camp focusing on the history of the War of 1812 and the formation of the Niagara Frontier.
The Junior Brigade (Cub Scouts) do hands-on activities such as games, crafts, candy making, lantern making, naval boat battles and cub-style fort building. The Cub Scouts have a fun busy weekend camping in the same field as the older youth so they can see what the ‘big kids’ are doing too. A great linking event for all 3 sections!
The Infantry (Scouts) and Artillery (Venturers) Regiments, dress as militia or 1812 soldiers have a fun program which culminates in a battle which is the largest cap gun/capture the flag battle in the world on the grounds of Fort George. Throughout the weekend, we learn about the historic grounds we camp on and how the Canadian and US were changed by the War of 1812.
The Venturers run their own Artillery Regiment. They maneuver close-to-scale cannons in artillery soldier uniforms in the battles. Aside from their own program, Venturers have the option of taking on leadership roles in the Cub Scout and Scout programs. The Venturers and Rovers can volunteer for site services and the vocational programs, Medical Venturers and Police Rovers, which provide invaluable service to our camp each year.

Beavers Train Day 2019!
September 28, 2019
I just wanted to let you all know that 3rd Aurora Beavers have booked our annual special "Beavers Train Day" at the Richmond Hill Live Steamers outdoor scale model railway in Stouffville (McCowan and Vivian) and we would like to extend an invitation to Beavers their parents and Colony Scouters from neighbouring groups to come and join us again this year.
Richmond Hill Live Steamers offers Beavers the exclusive chance to ride on scale-modeled steam, electric and diesel trains through a beautifully forested property. More information about the facility and the club can be found at http://richmond-hill-live-steamers.tripod.com/ .
The cost to attend this unique and fun filled event will be $20 per person and includes a BBQ lunch. The Richmond Hill Live Steamers, who operate the facility as a not for profit organization, will also have their own event badges available for sale for those who wish to purchase them on site. All Beavers must be accompanied at this event by a paying parent or guardian.
Spaces made available on a "first come first serve" basis. Unfortunately due to the high interest in this event and limited number of spaces available(maximum 60 people total), this will be a Beavers event, with no spaces available for siblings or friends at this time.
Those interested in joining us for this event are asked to contact myself as soon as possible to arrange payment in order to reserve your spaces. This event is all but assured to be a fun time for all.
Yours in Scouting,
Scouter Kyle "Lightning" Munro

Happy New Year!
I wanted to let everyone know that the volunteer Local Marketing Team is now open for business! Do you have an upcoming event or campaign that could use help with graphic design? They're ready to help you, your Section/Group/Area to develop marketing-related materials and strategies.
Feel free to reach out to them for support...in any of your marketing endeavours, whether it's promoting a small, day-long activity run by your Section, or something as big as an Area-wide weeklong camp (or bigger!).
For more info, please email them at firstname.lastname@example.org. To submit a request for graphic design or marketing help, please use the form attached. They'll do their best to accommodate your project deadline, but a minimum of 14 days notice is usually required. They're looking forward to hearing from you!
